The pro-abortion collective continues to assimilate

Surprise, surprise; this time, they're right in my backyard. The Curt Jester has the story. Resistance is futile. The Reasonable have spoken. Better that the young should die of potentially fatal side effects than those Foolish Pharmicists dare interfere with the One Thing that Matters. Witness the train wreck in progress:

The state Senate passed a bill that would let New York women get so-called "morning after" pills without a prescription - sending the controversial issue to Gov. Pataki.

The Democratic-controlled Assembly already had approved the emergency contraception measure, but pro-choice advocates had been worried about the bill's fate in the Republican-controlled Senate.

Senate GOP Leader Joe Bruno (R-Rensselaer), however, allowed it on the floor, and the bill passed 34-27.

Pataki aides said the governor would study the measure. Given his generally pro-choice record, advocates said they were hopeful he'll sign it.

Like the article says, Governor Pataki embraces a rather "flexible" catholicism; He's a classic pro-abort, Northeastern Republican politician. Think Rudy Guiliani. Dare a Fool hope he does the right thing. Well, with God all things are possible, but with men, habit rules! I didn't see a National Right to Life rating for the governor, but I can't imagine him having a good one. Not with statements like this one on the record:

Pataki Is A Pro Choice Catholic. According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, George Pataki is a pro-choice Catholic Republican who is a supporter of civil unions for the gay community. In 1996, Pataki told CNN that he was “ready to lead a fight to change their party’s anti-abortion plank.” [Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, 6/6/04, New York Sun, 5/12/04, cnn.com, 6/7/96]

Unfortunately, the Northeast is the epicenter of moloch worship in the US. Well, ok, maybe the Eastern epicenter. The point is that politicians are rewarded for abandoning their commitments to their Faith, if they choose the issue most people want them to support. Unfortunately, in NY, that tends to be the libertine issues. Again, this isn't true for most of the state--but it is true for the Cities. Especially New York. Not to mention the very blue suburbs.

No, watch the cars derail. Watch everyone run for cover the second a teenager gets sick or even dies from an over-the-counter purchased "pill". The Reasonable have spoken. What they have written, they have written.
