NewsOK.com says "Coast Guard rescues 9,500 in Gulf Coast

Get the story here.

The good news:
Already, the Coast Guard has rescued 9,500 people in addition to the thousands and thousands aided by local authorities, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said at a news conference. More than 100,000 people already had received humanitarian aid, he said.

Chertoff told reporters that the federal government would "break the mold" on emergency assistance. He said he was heading to New Orleans to oversee the next phase of relief efforts.

"Many of our citizens simply are not getting the help they need, especially in New Orleans, and that is unacceptable," Bush said during his Saturday radio address, delivered from the White House Rose Garden.
Everyone needs to sit and review everything that went wrong with this rescue operation. Once the survivors are evacuated and secure. In the meantime, everyone has to get their game plan in order and get it done. Suck up the criticism and quit the photo-ops. Get it done.
