Ecumenicism is still here to stay.

From Agenzia Giornalistica Italia - News In English comes this news brief:
Starting from the bible Christian continues to be a priority challenge for the church today celebrating the 40th anniversary of the promulgation of the "Dei Verbum" with the International Congress on the theme: "The sacred scripture in the life of the church". In launching the convention, Card. Walter Kasper, chairman of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity, wanted to underline that the Second Vatican Council made history and its decisions continue to effect the church importantly. And the creation of a council on Divine Revelation inaugurates an even more intense cooperation between Catholics and other Christians in the biblical field, and it will encourage an inter-confessional bible to be published in various languages.
Ah, to be a fly on the wall in those meetings! What would such an "inter-confessional bible" look like? What books will it contain? Will it exclude any? Inquiring minds want to know.

If such a work sincerely witnessed to the truth without compromising Catholic witness, it would represent a monumental step toward genuine union. That's something all Christians should support. The great sadness of our Lord over the severance of his mystical body on earth should be something all of us want to end. Let us all pray for that day. Then, let's get to work!
