Katrina Aftermath Hashing

Well, it didn't take Mark Shea long to kick up the dirt, now did it?

Check out the duststorms here and here. Jeeze! All the guy asks for is some perspective routed in reality. Is is so hard to admit that the President and the Federal government dropped the ball like NOLA's authorities? Does the aftermath of Katrina have to become the latest political perfect storm?

Of course it does! How Foolish of me! I have forgotten that the most popular religion in America is politics. And like all religions, the absolute truth of American politics has schismed. Therefore there are Republicans and Democrats, Conservatives and Liberals; each of these wonderful tribes posess the fullness of truth and know exactly how the rest of us ought to live. What a wonderful witness to Catholic Social Teaching. My heart is so warmed that so many would throw their common sense and their commitment to the Truth under the bus in order to back up their tribe!

How about we all get a grip. Would that be so hard?
