Want a good laugh?

Follow the Washington Post as it elaborates on the new Democratic Party Chairman's foot swallowing. The latest flub? Dean Urges Appeal to Moral Values.

"We're not gonna take it":

"People want us to fight, and we are here to fight," Dean said during a quarterly meeting of the party's 64-member executive committee. "We are not going to lie down in front of the Republican machine anymore."

"No! We ain't gonna take it!":

Several key Democrats had said early last week that Dean should resign but concluded by week's end that there was no viable movement to oust him. Dean yesterday embraced his reputation for volatility, saying he is being buoyed by activists and donors. At one point, Chicago alderman Joseph A. Moore had trouble getting recognized and joked that next time he would "jump up and down."

"That's my job!" Dean said, and the room shook with applause.

"We're not gonna take it anymore!":

"We have not spoken about moral values in this party for a long time," Dean said. "The truth is, we're Democrats because of our moral values. It's a moral value to make sure that kids don't go to bed hungry at night. . . . It is a moral value not to go out on golf trips paid for by lobbyists."

Yeah! That's right! And, of course, it's infallible teaching that the only way to ensure that Kid's don't go to bed hungry is to make sure that middle class families--already stuggling to make ends meet in the 35% and higher tax brackets--pay even more taxes to families that pay less--or nothing--on account of their income! Just like abortion is an intrinsic evil. Right, Mr. Dean?

Of course, NARAL's "personal responsibility" meme falls out of the DPC's lips:

Dean derided the attempted congressional intervention in the case of Terri Schiavo, whose feeding tube was removed in March. "Do we think the American people want to have those kinds of decisions made by families, or should they be made by Tom DeLay and the politicians in Washington?" Dean asked. "A moral value is personal responsibility and individual freedom. And that is what Democrats are going to start to stand for -- moral values."

Yes, that's it! Personal responsibility--to do whatever the hell I want to! Individual freedom--to do what I want and no one can tell me I'm wrong!

The laugher is that Mr. Dean and the rest of his cohorts believe they'll win the votes of the Reagan democrats with this trope. The attempt of Reasonable Democrats to win their Foolish party compatriots in the Fall of 2004 failed abysmally. That's because the truth of God's revelation and our responsibility to him are not satisfied with self-as-god policies repackaged in moral "values" vocabulary. They'll laugh all the way to the booth, then pull the elephants' row.

Howard Dean is the best Democratic chairmen the Republicans and Fools have! Keep up the good work, Mr. Dean!
